Common Name: Standardized: fennel Other: shatapushpa, Botanical Name: Foeniculum vulgare Mill.,Plant Family: Apiaceae

Overview: Fennel was highly valued in the ancient world by Romans, Greeks, Egyptians, Chinese, and Indians for its value as a carminative, expectorant, and as a talisman used in various rituals. Fennel is a food plant that can be eaten as a vegetable, is prized as a tasty aromatic spice for a variety of Ayurvedic and Mediterranean dishes, and is used as a flavoring in various liqueurs such as gin and absinthe. Due to fennel's gentle nature, it is used to support digestion in infants and children, and can be given to nursing mothers.

Uses And Preparations:  Dried seed (fruit) as a spice (whole or powdered), tea, tincture, or powdered and encapsulated fresh above ground parts as a cooked vegetable or in salads fresh seed (fruit) distilled as an essential oil or can be made into a tincture.

Health Benefits of Fennel: 1) Fennel May Help with Stomach/Gut Discomfort, Fennel has a long history of being used to treat a variety of gut and digestive problems, including stomach aches, flatulence, diarrhea, and constipation.
There are few studies that support these benefits. This doesn't mean that the benefits are not there, just that few have studied them.
Fennel seed oil reduces intestinal spasms and increases gut flow .Anethole, a major component of essential fennel oil, improved stomach function and emptying in rats (these are impaired in functional dyspepsia) Fennel extract prevented stomach ulcers caused by alcohol in rats .

Serendipitea Tea Organic
A sweet and spicy mix of tasty herbs and spices, giving this tea a fruity, floral, and spicy flavor, with a fragrant aroma. Caffeine-Free.

Ingredients: Organic licorice, organic spearmint, organic orange peel, organic cinnamon, organic red rose buds and petals, organic raspberry leaf, and organic lemon verbena.

Daily serving size: Pour 8-12 oz of boiling water (212* F) over 1 tsp. of tea. Steep 3-4 minutes.

Note: This spell will only work if you actually study and TRY to do well (or if you happen to naturally be a genius). Do not expect the spell to get you good grades when you haven't even tried to learn the material. I did this before my Chemistry AP last year, and I got a 5 on it, so I believe it worked!
  • You will need:
  •     1 yellow candle
  •     1 green candle
  •     1 piece of yellow ribbon, yarn, thread, or pipe cleaner
  •     1 piece of green ribbon, yarn, thread, or pipe cleaner
  •     1 piece of orange ribbon, yarn, thread, pipe cleaner
  •     oil (such as cinnamon) made for luck or success
If you cast a circle during spellwork, you can do this now.  
I didn't at the  time, due to it being pretty late at night and
 my mind was full of chemical  equations.
Light first the yellow candle, then the green.  
Make sure there's enough room to work between the two
Ask whatever God/desses you wish to enter the circle with you (your patrons, the Lord and Lady, whatever you believe in).
Take the three pieces of ribbon/yarn/thread/pipe cleaner (all long enough to make a bracelet for) and begin to braid them.  The yellow for intelligence and clarity; the green for luck; and the orange for success..
  1. As you braid them, you can imagine symbols of studying, intelligence and remembering being thread in as well.  (For example, I thought of most of my polyatomic ions, a book, a brain...)
  2. Ask the God/dess (es) to help you for your test, and help for your studying.  Ask them to help you remember all you can, and to make studying easier (either by silence, which I needed in my house with three younger siblings participating in screaming contests, or by finding time in hectic schedules).
  3. I'm not going to put down what I said because I'm one of those firm believers in putting a little of yourself into the spell, and because I have no clue what I did say...it was something from my heart and spur of the moment.
  4. Once you finish braiding, run a little of the oil over the place where you will tie it, and tie the bracelet (or anklet I suppose) around your wrist (ankle) and wear it when you study and during your test.
