wThe kitchen herbs and spices you're taking for granted can serve as home remedies. These may seem like normal ingredients you store in your kitchen, but once you know their healing powers, you won't let them out of your sight. Here are some of the healing herbs and spices you should have on hand this flu season:

Cinnamon  Known to treat the common cold and sore throat, cinnamon has always been the elder's favorite. If you feel the early symptoms of cold, don't hesitate to make yourself a cup of honey with cinnamon right away.
Elderberry- elderberry eases flu symptoms like fever, headache, sore throat, fatigue, cough, and body aches.  The benefits seem to be greatest when started within 24 to 48 hours after the symptoms begin.  Elderberries kill 8 strains of Influenza.

Ginger  Raw ginger roots are the key to soothe symptoms such as dizziness and cold sweats. Also, these can be used to make herbal tea to treat a cough.

Licorice  Another home remedy to treat a cough is licorice root. With its anti-viral effects, it is known for its power against the flu and other related diseases.

Thyme  If you want to soothe congestion, then you can create a cup of thyme tea. You can also boil the herbs with water and smell the aroma for positive effects.

Turmeric  The best option to fight flu is a glass of turmeric milk. With its healing properties, your immune system will be strengthened and your body can be protected.

Mint  If you're having a hard time with indigestion or a stuffy nose, then mint is what you need. It soothes the tummy and the throat, through its cooling sensation and fragrant herbs.

Horoscope title
Aries:   You've got energy to spare during the busy sun-Mars conjunction on September 2. Why not get something done you've been putting off?  You'll feel great once you've crossed off everything on that pesky to-do list!  A helpful Mercury-Mars conjunction the very next day increases mental activity, and you might become very focused on one or two small details. You're an excellent debater now, able to argue your point against almost anyone and come out ahead.

Taurus: The Venus-Saturn trine on September 1 is perfect for recommitting to something or someone you've lost focus on. Dig in deep and remember what you can do when you put your mind to it.  The Mercury-Saturn trine on the fifth isn't particularly social, but it is a good opportunity to spend some time on your own so you can make an important decision or have a serious conversation. It's obvious that you mean business now.

Gemini: The possibilities seem endless during the Mercury-Uranus trine on September 1. You feel so lucky to have so many options that you can't help but want to talk about them. People will want to hear what you have to say as long as you don't brag, Gemini.  Your mind is racing during the Mercury-Mars conjunction on the third, which could cause you to say some things you really don't mean. If you overstep the bounds, apologize immediately. This isn't a time to be stubborn.

Cancer: Have you been thinking about committing to a long-term love or making a financial investment? The favorable Venus-Saturn trine on September 1 is a great day to do those things, especially if you've put in the work and know your options. If you're sick or tired (or both) during the sun-Neptune opposition on the tenth, you might be susceptible to people who try to take advantage of you or fool you in some way. You aren't naive, but you might be totally caught off guard when you aren't feeling 100 percent.

Leo:  Keep an open mind during the Mercury-Uranus trine on September 1, Leo. You can have some very interesting, mind-expanding experiences if you're willing to leave your inhibitions and preconceived notions behind.  You have a lot of impulsive energy to deal with during the Mars-Jupiter square on the twelfth, but you can do some incredible things with it if you can find a way to harness it. The worst thing you can do now is react to other people's taunting. Stay in control to conquer your haters.

Virgo: Your mind is alert and active during the Mercury-Uranus trine on September 1, so the start of the month is a great time to put some of your more ambitious plans into effect. You have some great ideas, Virgo, and now is the time to let the world know what your mind is capable of.  Your brain continues to be one of your strongest assets when the Mercury-Pluto trine occurs on the eighth, and you gain a lot of your success through perseverance. This same quality makes you an excellent partner and friend because you refuse to give up when there's something you see as worthwhile on the line.

Libra: The Venus-Neptune opposition on the fourth could lead to embarrassment or disappointment if you fall prey to someone who has bad intentions. Unfortunately, your good nature can get you mixed up with people who want to take advantage of you, Libra, so be on the lookout for people who might not be who they pretend to be.
The moon is full in compassionate Pisces on the thirteenth, leading to creativity in play and romance. You won’t let your inhibitions down easily now, but if you’re with someone you know you can trust, the sky’s the limit to what you can accomplish together.

Scorpio: Your home planet Mars forms a conjunction with the sun in logical Virgo on September 2, giving you increased energy to take the initiative and get control of something that's gotten out of hand lately. Your advanced organizational skills are especially helpful now.  A close relationship gets more passionate and intense during the Venus-Pluto trine on the sixth, and if you aren't in a relationship, you'll be feeling more hopeful about finding someone to love. You exude a mysterious sexuality that's hard for others to ignore.

Sagittarius:   Have you been working hard without having enough fun lately? The Venus-Jupiter square is here on September 2 to change all that. Don't get so caught up in partying that you forget about all your other responsibilities, though. Balance is still important.  A stressful Mercury-Jupiter square on the sixth makes you question past decisions, especially if you felt distracted or pressured into them. It might be too late to change your mind, but you can still fix the situation. Avoid putting the blame on others.

Capricorn: Are you ready for new opportunities? The Mercury-Uranus trine on September 1 opens new doors, and all you have to do is walk through them. Be sure to keep an open mind if someone pitches you a new business idea. You might have to hear it a couple times before you become intrigued.  You might agree to take on more responsibility during the sun-Saturn trine on the sixth, but you also might regret biting off more than you can chew. Try to start small and work your way up to bigger projects so things don*t become too overwhelming.

Aquarius:    You gain a lot from being around interesting people and having deep conversations about meaningful things during the Venus-Saturn trine on September 1. Keep an open mind while different opinions and ideas are exchanged.  The Mercury-Saturn trine on the fifth is a great time to catch up on things like studying, because your mental acuity is strong. Taking tests, teaching others, and tending to everyday details are also activities you excel at now. Use that brain power, Aquarius!

Pisces:  The Venus-Neptune opposition on September 4 has the potential to cause problems if you let it, Pisces. The confusing and deceptive energy that can be attached to it makes decisions difficult, especially if someone is determined to keep you in the dark. If you aren*t sure, walk away.  The Mercury-Neptune opposition on the seventh has a mystical effect on you, and creative activities like writing poetry or song lyrics can have a profound and meaningful outcome. Wait until you*re fully ready to share your creativity with others so they don*t pop your creative bubble.
