TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE SUPER-MOON – MARCH 8, 2016
WHY ARE SO MANY FAMOUS PEOPLE DYING RIGHT NOW ..
ASTROLOGICALLY SPEAKING?
A friend asked me this question and I meant to give her a short, concise answer …. but this is what I came up with.
Certain planetary formations seem to portend a greater than usual loss of the famous, rich, and powerful ... as if "taking them away” from the public/collective consciousness, which has been used to having them around.
Planets associated with the famous, rich, and powerful include Jupiter (natural ruler of the 9th) and Saturn (natural ruler of the 10th). Notice that those two planets rule the houses at the pinnacle of a natural chart? That corresponds to their association with prominent people.
Saturn is also one of the planets associated with loss, along with Pluto and Neptune. Saturn = loss by natural death in old age, Pluto = any kind of death or separation/alienation, Neptune = vanishings and losses not fully understood, or less-noticed "slipping-aways". Chiron and Ceres are asteroids associated with loss (via their myths).
Right now, and throughout 2016 and 2017, formations between these planets -- plus Ceres and Chiron -- will combine the indicators of rich and prominent people with the indicators of "loss" -- over and over again.

A rare t-square between Neptune, Saturn, and Jupiter formed in 2015 and will form again this year. But such formations tend to exert their energies even when their orb is wide -- like right now. The t-square will soon become much tighter and last through July, but we can expect to see its celebrity-eliminating (and vexing) effects throughout this whole period. (There are several other mundane meanings to this t-square -- involving the fall of corrupt politicians and shameful scandals for previously popular figures. But that goes beyond the question I'm answering here ... about the loss of many famous people during this period.)
I expect a shorter period within early 2016 to produce even more -- and more shocking -- celebrity losses … possibly even the loss of an American political candidate now prominent in the news and doing well in the races.
Why? The Sun ALSO rules rich and prominent people, especially those currently in the glare of the limelight. But most solar aspects last only a day or two, not enough time to generate the kind of power that brings on shocking mundane events ... unless that aspect is a SOLAR ECLIPSE.
THE TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE SUPERMOON OF MARCH 8, 2016
This is The Big One, as Solar Eclipses go, with so many power players in the chart, and so much going on, I’m not sure where to start.
First, it’s a Total Solar Eclipse of fairly long duration – making it more powerful than most Solar Eclipses that occur (at least two every year).
Next, it’s a Supermoon, meaning that the Moon is PERIGEE (making its closest approach to Earth in the lunar month) at the time of the eclipse. Just by gravitational pull alone, Supermoons are more powerful than other lunations. They amp up the transformational power of eclipses accordingly.
Finally, all the planets and asteroids I mentioned earlier interact directly with the Total Solar Eclipse Supermoon in this chart – and none of them benignly, except Pluto … but even Pluto is testy, still square to Uranus.
Solar Eclipse seasons often coincide with notable losses of legendary society icons – symbolized by the Sun being lost behind shadow of the Moon. This season is shaping up to do the same, but more intensely so.
The Eclipse itself (the Sun-Moon conjunction) tightly conjuncts Chiron (wounding) and Ceres (unbearable personal loss), while widely conjuncting Neptune. The whole group opposes Jupiter (prominent people) and they ALL t-square Saturn (powerful people, and loss through old age).
Uranus (shocking developments) tightly quincunxes (things that don’t “fit” or seem right) Jupiter. Someone leaves us and it just feels “WRONG” ??? (I know I felt that way when Princess Diana and JFK died.)
In this chart cast for Washington, DC, Pluto (4th house ruler) widely opposes the Midheaven (MC = leaders). The MC is ruled by the badly-afflicted eclipsing Moon -- one reason I suspect an American leader might suddenly leave us.
The Asc/1st house in this chart is ruled by Venus in late Aquarius. Venus squares the Dsc/7th house ruler, Mars in early Sag. I would not be surprised to see an attack (Mars) on American soil (1st house) by an open enemy (7th house) from a foreign nation (Mars in Sag) during this eclipse season.
So there it is. A Solar Eclipse influence lasts from about one year before to one year after the eclipse ... but the most obvious and strongest effects are often seen a couple of months before and after. Wherever this eclipse falls in your natal chart (18 Pisces), you might want to look out for sweeping changes. Even a Piscean tsunami.
I will post my usual “how to use an eclipse for personal growth” articles when we get closer to this big event.
In the meantime, you can always create a good-works piñata in the life issues ruled by the house where an eclipse will soon fall …. then collect all the wonderful goodies that rain down upon you when the eclipse bursts it wide open.

Astrological Transit
Astrological
transits are one of the main means used in horoscopic astrology to forecast future trends
and developments (the other means used is astrological progression, which progresses
the horoscope
forward in time according to set methods). As its name implies, astrological
transits involve a method of interpreting the ongoing movement of the planets as they transit the horoscope.
This is most often done for the birth or Natal
Chart of a particular individual. Particular attention is paid to changes
of sign, or house, and to the aspects or angles the transiting planets make
with the natal chart.
A particularly important transit is the planetary
return. This occurs when a transiting planet returns to the same point in
the sky that it occupied at the moment of a person's birth. What this means is
that the planet has completed a whole circuit of the sky, and signifies that a
new cycle in the person's life is beginning. The most significant returns are
those of the outer planets Jupiter and Saturn. The Jupiter return occurs
approximately every 12 years and heralds a new phase of growth and development.
The
Saturn return occurs approximately every 30 years, and heralds a new phase
in the aging process when new realities and responsibilities must be
faced. For more information you may find it here:
