MERCURY FEELING A LITTLE RETROGRADE THIS WEEK?
IT’S NOT, BUT THERE’S STILL “INTERFERENCE ON THE LINES”
Mercury doesn't only act up when it’s retrograde. In fact, that's sometimes one of the least disruptive influences on Mercury (depending on the aspects Mercury makes when Rx and stationing).
Some of the other “Mercury Discombobuators” or "Disruptors” often kick up even more communication dust and fog than a retrograde.
They include:
- Mercury Out of Bounds (OOB, at a declination more than 23 degrees north or south)
- Mercury Afflicted (Squared, opposed or quincunxed, especially by Mars or an outer planet, and especially when the aspect is prolonged by planetary stations)
- Mercury Stalked (when Mercury travels in step with and conjunct another planet)
For the past two weeks, Mercury has remained too close to the Sun for comfort -- STALKED. This overwhelms and agitates Mercury's energies, resulting in inaccurate perceptions and a definite Mercury-retrograde-feel.
This condition will end November 2 -- but the sigh of relief won't last long. Mercury goes Out-of-Bounds on Nov 10 and become EOOB (Extremely OOB ... more than 25 degrees north or south declination) by the end of Nov ... joining Venus in her EOOB state at that time. Both communication AND interpersonal relations become much harder to smoothly navigate at that time. Plan the holidays accordingly. Mercury OOB lasts until Dec 19.
Then, early Dec. Mercury enters his Max phase, the pre-retrograde time when he moves slowly and gets closest to Earth -- also disruptive. His actual retrograde lasts from Dec 19 through January 8 -- with another week+ of Mercury Max after.
This kind of Mercury disruption period always makes the holiday season a little more stressful, but sometimes more surprising, too. I plan to travel very little and allow extra time when I do. Flowing with the unexpected can allow more notice of unexpected good
MOONS OF CHAOS AND ENLIGHTENMENT – A YEAR OF CARDINAL FULL MOONS BOUND TO URANUS AND PLUTO
This weekend’s Full Moon at 23 Aries kicks off a series of Cardinal Sign Full Moons that will pack a punch we haven’t seen for several years, since Uranus and Pluto squared each other more tightly, earlier in their current signs.
The coming a series of Cardinal Full Moons will either conjunct, square, or oppose Uranus in Aries and/or Pluto in Capricorn.
The Quadrature aspects – conjunction, square, and opposition – exert the greatest power of all aspects to ignite a planet in a mundane chart. Both Uranus and any Full Moon are well known for their ability to ignite, explode, and release the other potential energies in a chart.
While a New Moon begins a new lunar cycle in human activities, a Full Moon culminates that activity cycle. The Full Moon bears the fruit of something begun at the New Moon; it also usually brings something previously hidden to light.
Just as a big, bright Full Moon at night shines light on what the darkness usually hides from our sight, the Full Moon energies allow – and sometimes force – humankind to look at truths they have previously been able to ignore … as a society as well as in individual personal lives.
Combine that SPOTLIGHT quality of a Full Moon with a kick from Uranus, and we get FORCED, SHOCKING, NEW AWARENESSES … game-changing awarenesses that mean things can’t just go on as they did before.
In mid-2017, Pluto will join – and then dominate – the Full Moon chart Quadratures, adding FORCED TRANSFORMATION to the mix of Forced Awareness … which makes sense. After all, how long can we KNOW about an issue before we must finally DO something about it?
I believe that the following Full Moons will pack a punch for change and transformation almost equal to that of Solar Eclipses. Anyone familiar with my eclipse posts knows that I put much stock in their transformational powers, based on my research and observations.
So here is the YEAR OF URANUS-PLUTO FULL MOONS, especially powerful Full Moons coming up in the next 12 months.
See where each one falls in your chart for an idea of the issues of your life that will receive the SPOTLIGHT OF KEEN AWARENESS (defined by the natal house where the Full Moon will fall).
October 16,
2016 … 23-24 Aries; Full Moon TIGHTLY CONJUNCT Uranus and Eris in
Aries, and in a wide t-square with the Pluto-Mars conjunction. Any of
those alone would be enough to expect fireworks in the news and extra
violence or terrorism on the streets. The combination is daunting. The
chart below is set for Washington DC and has the Full Moon in the 10th.
Something unexpected could be revealed about US government or leaders.
Relocating the chart for other places on earth could show us the
revelation potentials for other regions.
THIS FULL MOON IS ALSO A POWERFUL SUPERMOON, CLOSEST (AT PERIGEE) TO EARTH.
January 12, 2017 … 22-27 Cancer; Full Moon in a tight t-square with Uranus, Jupiter, and the Sun-Pluto conjunction
April 11, 2017 … 21-33 Libra; Sun, Uranus, Eris in a tight conjunction, opposing Moon and Jupiter, and all t-squaring a Pluto-Juno conjunction. Juno so-featured in a mundane chart often highlight victims in some way in the news.
July 9, 2017 17-09 Capricorn Full Moon tightly conjunct Pluto, Sun conjunct Mars, and both conjunctions widely t-square exaggerating Jupiter.
October 5, 2017 12-41 Aries Full Moon squares Pluto, but Uranus is out of the Quadrature.
HOW TO USE THIS INFORMATION
Cardinal signs demand constructive action. But Uranian energies are some of the hardest to use proactively because their very nature is something unexpected. Pluto can intimidate us away from action.
But we can at least increase our observation of the issues ruled by the houses where these Full Moons will fall in our charts, look for anything brewing there.
The houses where Uranus and Pluto now travel in your chart have probably already made their active issues known, but we can always ask if we are doing enough to cooperate with them.
Wherever transiting Pluto travels in our natal charts, he demands that we face hard truths and transform in ways that will support on-going growth
Wherever transiting Uranus travels in our natal charts, he wants us to see those issues from a higher perspective and to break out of ruts of behavior and habit.
Full Moons bring us the light to see what’s been right in front of us all along, or what’s developing before our very noses.
